Stay tuned for details and everything you need to secure your child’s spot! Now more than ever, children need a place where they feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves.

YMCA Summer Camp offers families a reliable, high-quality option for children when school is not in session. Our day camps provide a structured, screen-free environment where kids stay active, build social skills, and engage in age-appropriate activities led by trained staff.

Camp days are designed to balance fun with purpose.

Children participate in group games, creative projects, outdoor play, and themed activities that encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and independence. Weekly themes keep camp engaging and give kids something new to look forward to each week.

"My daughter has been attending YMCA Summer Camp for over 8 years. She looks forward to going every day and has built positive relationships with children and the staff. I can’t speak enough about the staff and the time they take to get to know my child. Her favorite parts of the day were swimming in the pool, playing on the playground and in the dirt! I wouldn’t send my child anywhere else for camp and look forward to another great summer with the YMCA."  -Marie, parent of 11-year-old

With 10 camp locations across the Capital Region, families can choose a convenient option close to home or work. Many sites offer pool time and swim lessons, and our popular Travel Camp expands the experience with supervised field trips throughout the Capital District.

The Capital District YMCA's Summer Camp supports working families by providing consistent, dependable care throughout the summer. Scholarships are available thanks to the generosity of YMCA donors, ensuring access for families who need financial support.

At the Y, summer camp is designed to meet families where they are, offering a safe, engaging, and affordable option that supports children’s growth and parents’ peace of mind.

"Our 5-year-old son had a wonderful experience at YMCA Adventure Camp this summer. He loved being outside in the sun every day and having plenty of time to run around and be active. The daily swimming opportunities were a big highlight for him, and he made many new friends with peers his own age. Drop-off and pick-up were convenient and well organized, which made the experience even better for our family. We would absolutely recommend YMCA Adventure Camp to anyone looking for a fun, engaging, and active place for their child during the summer." — Tom, parent of a 5-year-old

Counselors in Training Program

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is the perfect opportunity for teens entering 9th or 10th grade (ages 14–15) to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and a strong work ethic in a fun and supportive camp environment.

As the first step from camper to potential staff member, CITs gain hands-on experience by shadowing counselors, planning activities, and engaging in interactive training and team-building exercises. This program helps teens build confidence, responsibility, and essential skills they can use in any future leadership role.

CITs are selected based on maturity, enthusiasm, and a passion for camp leadership. While this program does not guarantee employment, it’s an incredible stepping stone for future opportunities!
