For over twenty years, the Capital District YMCA has held Teen Nites in Albany on Saturday nights as part of its Gang Prevention initiative. Alternating between Green Tech High School during the school year and Albany parks in the summer, Teen Nites provide a safe space for teens to gather and play basketball, eat food, listen to music, and hang out with their friends. Alumni of this program include Taylor Battle, Assistant Basketball Coach for Northwestern, and local business owner Kevin Skeen.
