Tangi

Tangi, Wellness Director & Personal Trainer

Bringing purpose and passion to the forefront of her work, in 2022, Tangi received a nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification through International Sports and Science Association (ISSA) and recently joined the CDYMCA Evolution team in March 2023 as a Fitness Trainer/Coach.

As a Fitness entrepreneur, Tangi has worked with a Girls’ Residential program in the NYC area, to implement the S.H.E. Is Movement fitness initiative, introducing various fitness workout styles and nutrition education to teen girls.

An avid runner since 2011 (participating in various Half Marathons) and having an active lifestyle since her early teen years, Tangi desires to bring more Black women and girls into fitness spaces to improve their lives by sharing the importance of self-care through fitness.

Alex, Personal Trainer

Formerly playing division one football, Alex has trained with high level athletes and
understands the commitment it takes to reach personal goals. From training for athletic
performance, injury prevention and rehabbing, recovery, and body composition goals
Alex has put his experience to work. Alex has found the same passion in helping others
achieve their goals as he does his own. He believes that physical activity should be a key
part of everyone's lives and aims to help others simplify their fitness routines and
achieve their goals with ease.

James

James, Personal Trainer

As a personal trainer, James is passionate about helping clients achieve their personal goals and help them set new ones along their fitness journey. He has worked with a wide variety of clients and athletes at many different levels of experience. From training club sports teams at the collegiate level, to nationally competitive powerlifters, to those stepping into the gym for the first time just starting out. Regardless of your experience or ability, James is committed to helping you reach your goals. 

He has personally trained in many aspects of fitness from powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, distance
running, and athletic training. Having experienced the highs and lows of each discipline - achieving personal bests in lifts, miles, and performance to being forced to start from scratch after recovering from a meniscus surgery— he can relate to the challenges that arise and work with you to overcome any obstacles that come your way. James looks forward to helping athletes elevate their performance in their respective sports, and empowering his clients to reach their personal fitness goals!

As a coach for gymnasts of all ages for many years, Julie has worked with youth to cultivate strength, flexibility, and confidence through structured training. In addition to working with young athletes, Julie has extensive experience assisting patients recovering from open heart surgery. Creating personalized exercise rehabilitation programs that help individuals regain mobility, strength, and a sense of independence. Julie is passionate about proper form, technique and helping you enjoy your workout. Working with beginners or seasoned athletes, Julie will emphasize the importance of precision in movement to prevent injury and achieve long lasting results.

One-time purchase offers the expertise of a certified trainer to design a fitness program to target your wellness goals, keep you motivated, and help you bust through a plateau. The package consists of a 60-minute assessment session and two 30-minute follow-up sessions.
